Khlong Lan National Park and Waterfall

By far the best national park and waterfall in Kamphaeng Phet.

There are numerous big mountains covered in beautiful rainforest in Khlong Lan National Park. It’s a go-to location for forest monks looking for a tranquil, picturesque, and natural setting to spend extended periods of time in silent meditation. The park has driving and walking paths that take you to stunning vistas. A highlight is the Khlong Lan Waterfall, which is 100 metres tall. It is at its most beautiful during the rainy season. You can also hike up nine portions of the Khlong Nam Lai Waterfall.

Phra Ruang Hot Springs

The stunning Phra Ruang Hot Springs, a collection of natural hot springs that are not too far from town, are said to have therapeutic effects for people who plunge into its steaming waters.

A great spot to unwind and recharge is Phra Ruang Hot Spring. Aches, pains, pressures, and strains can be relieved in pools and streams’ naturally heated, mineral-rich waters. Lie in the wonderfully warm waves and feel your tensions simply melt away. There are also cold springs where you may chill off and get your heart rate up. There are private bathing spaces accessible, and if you want to spend the night, there are also exquisite bamboo cottages on site.

Town Clock

It is a striking monument in the shape of a tower that honours the area’s past.

In front of the clock, there is a waterfall and a sizable portrait of the King, and Thai flags fly proudly in the air.

King Chulalongkorn’s former home

The abandoned remnants of King Chulalongkorn’s former residence are rather cool, despite being in a state of deterioration and disarray currently.

It takes some imagination to envision how grand the house would have been in earlier times as it was constructed of wood and has enormous shuttered windows that now fly open to the weather. There are only a few modest pictures and a shrine inside that can be seen through the open doorway as evidence of the building’s former richness. Please be aware that you cannot enter the property because doing so would be dangerous.

Karen Village

Members of the Karen ethnic group predominately live in some areas of Kamphaeng Phet. The Karen are primarily found in Shan state, modern-day Myanmar, but a significant number of them migrated to Thailand over time and established themselves in remote mountainous places.
