Bright Yoga, founded by Ricardo Martin, is a globally recognized yoga school that began its journey in Venezuela over a decade ago. Ricardo, captivated by the transformative power of yoga, dedicated his life to sharing this practice with others. After training with Larry Schultz in 2010, he began leading Yoga Teacher Training programs, certifying over 500 teachers alongside Joy. Bright Yoga's philosophy is rooted in the belief that yoga is a journey of self-discovery and self-improvement. Our programs are designed to deepen understanding of alignment, philosophy, and breathing, while also developing teaching skills. We offer a 200-hour training program and retreats in various beautiful locations worldwide.

Participants were encouraged to disclose any limitations, whether physical, emotional, or spiritual, to ensure an honest starting position was agreed upon.

The retreat was held at the beautiful Tup Kaek Sunset Resort, where participants were accommodated in the "Deluxe Garden" rooms. The accommodation was shared with one other student, fostering a sense of community and shared experience.

The retreat included a Yin Yoga program by the beach, led by a teacher qualified as E-RYT 500 according to Yoga Alliance standards. This program was designed to be deeply challenging yet still and surrendered, encouraging participants to take time for introspection and self-discovery.

In addition to the yoga program, the retreat included a breakfast buffet and free drinking water and Wi-Fi. However, participants were responsible for their own travel arrangements and yoga mats.

While the specific schedule of the retreat was subject to change based on the teacher's discretion, the overall focus was on Yin Yoga practice and introspection. The retreat was a unique opportunity to unplug, unclutter, and sink into oneself for an introspective journey.

Here is a typical daily schedule at the retreat:

  • 6:30 - 7:00: The day begins with Vipassana Meditation, a practice that cultivates mindfulness and awareness, setting a peaceful tone for the day.
  • 7:00 - 10:00: This is followed by Asana Practice & Training, a session that involves physical postures or poses, designed to promote strength, flexibility, and balance.
  • 10:00 - 11:30: After the morning yoga session, there is a Brunch Break, where participants can enjoy a buffet-style breakfast and have some free time.
  • 11:30 - 14:30: The afternoon starts with Theory, which includes asana clinic, practice technique, and more. This session is designed to deepen the understanding of yoga and its principles.
  • 14:30 - 15:00: There is a short break, allowing participants to rest and rejuvenate before the next session.
  • 15:00 - 17:30: The day concludes with a Second Practice, another opportunity to engage in physical yoga practice.

What is not included:

At Bright Yoga, we strive to provide a comprehensive and immersive experience for our participants. However, there are certain items and services that are not included in the "8 Days, Yin Yoga Retreat, in Krabi, Thailand". Firstly, transportation including flight tickets are not included in the retreat package. Participants are responsible for arranging their own travel to and from the retreat location in Krabi, Thailand. Secondly, yoga mats are not provided. We encourage participants to bring their own yoga mats for personal use during the retreat. This is to ensure the comfort and hygiene of our participants. Thirdly, any accommodation outside the time frame of the Yin Yoga Retreat is not included. The accommodation provided as part of the retreat package is only for the duration of the retreat, from 9th to 16th May 2020.
